What are chakras?
Chakras are energy centers located in the aura along our spine that supply life energy to our body. The word “chakra” literally means “wheel” in Sanskrit. We don't just nourish ourselves with food; the proper functioning of the chakras is essential for our physical and spiritual health. The lower chakras rotate more slowly and are connected to our basic human needs. A lack of love and attention, as well as childhood traumas, can lead to improper development and imbalanced chakra rotation. Of course, disturbances can also develop later in life. Chakras are connected to physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our being.
Manipura (Solar Plexus) means “shining jewel” in Sanskrit and is the main energy accumulator of our body. This chakra represents our personal power and ability to take action. If there is a blockage in the two lower chakras, our potential won't be properly expressed. This can create a need for control driven by fear. Therefore, the third chakra can fully develop only when the first two chakras are balanced. The first chakra is connected to grounding, while the second chakra relates to releasing the need to meet others' expectations — whether those are from parents, close people, community, or society.
The heart chakra is located in the center of the chest, at the level of the heart. It is our core and connects the lower chakras with the upper ones. It reflects the quality of our relationship with ourselves and with others. If this chakra becomes blocked—often due to emotional wounds caused by those close to us—it can manifest as deep sadness. Through these wounds, we learn how to forgive and give unconditional love.
The throat chakra is located in the area of the larynx. It gives us the ability to express our feelings. When this chakra is blocked, unexpressed emotions build up inside us, creating an even greater blockage that, in extreme cases, can manifest as thyroid problems. Another type of imbalance in this chakra is aggressive expression.
The Ajna Chakra (Third Eye) is located between the eyebrows and is the center of our spiritual insight, awareness, and focus. Like all other chakras, it is connected to them, and its full function depends on the balance of all the other chakras. Our intuition relies on the proper functioning of this chakra. It allows us to fully accept life and understand that everything happens for a reason—that life's circumstances bring growth rather than punishment or injustice.
The crown chakra is located at the top of the head. It represents the perfection and wholeness of our being. Most people, especially those primarily focused on material values, have a blocked crown chakra. This is largely influenced by blockages in the other chakras.

One could write about chakras at great length, but even a brief insight allows us to understand how important their proper functioning is.
Chakras rotate clockwise unless they are blocked. To help them return to their natural rotation after years of blockage and insufficient external energy supply, several chakra balancing treatments are necessary. Consequently, we also undergo inner transformation, as this is a form of holistic work. After balancing the chakras, we feel more joy, understanding, and love within ourselves. Life feels lighter, and we recognize it as a great gift.
Animals can be treated by this method as well.
